Jane Martin Obituary

Jane C. Martin CHARLESTON - Jane C. Martin, 91, of Charleston, SC, entered into eternal rest Saturday, June 03, 2023. Her Graveside Funeral will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, June 8, 2023, at St. Philip's Churchyard, 142 Church St., Charleston. Jane was born April 26, 1932, in Charleston, a daughter of the late Mabel C. Goodwin and William Ortmann Copleston. She was educated at Winyah High School in Georgetown, Winthrop University, and the Medical University of SC. She was a Medical Technologist for the Red Cross through MUSC. She volunteered for HELP and was also a member of St. Philip's Church. Jane was part of a group of beloved ladies who played Bridge for over 50 years. Jane is survived by her daughter, Patricia Stevens (Jeff); one granddaughter, Whitney Coleman-Rougelot (Chris); step-grandsons, Joshua Stevens (Abby) and Johnathon Stevens (Julie); her great-granddaughter, Ellison Jane Rougelot; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin M. Martin; her son, Thomas Hutson Martin III; and her sister, Patricia Copleston Zavaleta. The family wishes to thank her caregiver, Cassandra Potts, for her loving care and devotion. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Philip's Church. Arrangements by James A.
