JANE GASKINS Obituary

Jane Taylor Gaskins MOUNTAIN REST, SC - Jane Taylor Gaskins, 72, of Mountain Rest, South Carolina, wife of Dana D Gaskins, passed away on 8/19/2022. She was born to Charles and Elinor Taylor, on July 20, 1950, in Kingstree, SC. Jane graduated from First Baptist School of Charleston, SC, in 1968 and received an Associate's Degree from Palmer College in 1970. She married Dana Gaskins in 1973, and they lived together in Charleston for thirty years before relocating to Mt. Rest. She is survived by her husband, Dana; her sons, John Gaskins, of Charleston and David Gaskins (April), of Adams Run; and sister, Margie Player (Robert), of Mt. Rest. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Joshua, Faith, Ryker and Jackson, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Michael in 2020; her parents and sister, Carol Carter. She was a loving wife and mother. She was the previous owner the Paperback Trader Bookstore. She was an avid reader who thoroughly enjoyed her books. She also enjoyed her plants and bird watching. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 AM, Thursday, September 1, 2022, prior to the service, at Davenport Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held in her honor at 11:00 AM, Thursday, September 1, 2022, at Davenport Funeral Home.
