This is late in coming, because I just stumbled upon a dear friend from long ago, and her obituary. I was thinking about her today, and having recently reconnected with another childhood friend, I thought I would try to locate Jane. I'm very sorry to see she has passed, and offer my condolences to her family. What I remember most about her is how kind she always was, to me and everyone around her, and her sense of humor. She could make me laugh the kind of deep belly laugh that feels like it purges your soul of any negativity. And yet, we had many deep and stimulating conversations about life, often while swinging at the local reservoir's park or Mitchell Elementary school in Muncie, In. We lost touch after college, but I've thought of her often over the years. It made me happy to see that it seems she lived a happy life, full of love. I hope I meet her again, someday and someplace.

Hi,
I got to know Jane while we were studying together in Perpignan in 1984. We were a tight group for the 5 months we were all together. I saw her again once or twice in 1987 when 3 of us from the french program were all working in San Fran. We lost touch after that, but I remember Jane fondly. So sorry for your loss. Like her, I studied Econ, and like her, I worked at the central office where my kids went to school. Similar paths...

I worked with Jane at Citibank in SF. She was a joy to be around, everyone loved Jane. She and I went to the Black & White Ball in SF one year. I remember when she left SF for grad school in the Carolinas. I live in Asheville now, and read about Jane's passing. Jane was probably like a good wine, and only got better with time. She was one of the 'good ones.' Prayers to her family.

My deepest condolences to Johnny and the girls for the unthinkable loss of their wife and mother, Jane. I had the great honor of working with her at Heathwood Hall where she applied her amazing intellect, charming personality and unshakable integrity to the work of enrolling outstanding students. Jane made the school -- and the world -- a better place. May she rest in peace.

I am one of the hundreds of Heathwood parents I know Jane helped over the years. Jane was always so bright and responsive, so welcoming and supportive. I am thankful for knowing her, even if it was limited. She will be greatly missed.
