Jane Allen Obituary

Jane Allen N. CHARLESTON - Jane J. Allen, 95, of North Charleston, SC, widow of James Roscoe Allen, Sr., entered into eternal rest Tuesday, December 19, 2023. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel. Jane was born June 30, 1928, in Vandalia, IL, daughter of the late George Madison James and the late Mabel Harding James. She was a Fuels Clerk with Civil Service. She loved listening to tapes on books, going out to eat, watching John Wayne and her game shows. She is survived by six children: Barbara (Archie) Burchard of Wetumpka, AL, James (Gwen) Allen of Andrews, SC, Nancy Baird of North Charleston, SC, Mary (Chuck) Mills of Gilbert, AZ, Gail Seagroves of West Union, SC, Luster Holloway of Jasper, AL; 14 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Roscoe Allen, Sr.; and three siblings. Memorials may be made to South Carolina State Library, Talking Book Services, 1500 Senate St., Columbia, SC 29201-3815, (800-922-7818 - Diane).
