Jan Shoenberger Obituary

Jan Shoenberger GOOSE CREEK - Jan Shoenberger, age 85, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2025. Born in Springburn, Glasgow, Scotland to Andrew and Hannah McKay. She met and married Franklin P. Shoenberger, her husband of 62 years, while he served in the US Navy and was stationed in Holy Loch, Scotland. They had three wonderful children, James A. & Karen, Phyllis Dayton & Barry, and Andrew P. and Joanna. She is also remembered by her grandchildren, Christopher, James & Lauren, Jennifer & Thomas, and Brandon, and by her great-grandchildren, Renee, Emerson, Maverick, Hailey, and Sawyer. An avid traveler, she returned to Scotland frequently in addition to traveling throughout the United States, including multiple ports through Navy deployment. She enjoyed arts and crafts as well as being a member of the Scottish Lassies societies. She loved a good laugh. A funeral service will be held February 21, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 510 St. James Ave., in Goose Creek, at 10:30 am. Donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in lieu of flowers.
