James Wyndham Obituary

James A. "Tony" Wyndham GOOSE CREEK - James Anthony "Tony" Wyndham, 69, of Goose Creek, SC, former owner and operator of The Oaks Golf & Country Club, died Saturday evening at his residence. His funeral will be 2:00 PM Wednesday afternoon, October 1, 2014, in the Oak Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER, from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Tuesday. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Oak Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church, 2346 N. Highway 17-A, Bonneau, SC 29431. Mr. Wyndham was born January 26, 1945, in Moncks Corner, SC, a son of Jimmy Wyndham and Bernie Orvin Wyndham. He was a graduate of Macedonia High School and was brought up in the Oak Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church. Prior to beginning his business career, he worked in construction for many years - first as an ironworker and lastly as a superintendent. In addition to The Oaks, he owned and operated the Half Time Sports Bar & Grills #1, #2, and #3, as well as T.W.'s Sports Bar & Grill. Mr. Wyndham participated in numerous charitable fundraisers, and when he worked, he worked hard; and when he played, he played hard. He was the definition of a "people person", and always gave generously of himself. Mr. Wyndham enjoyed playing golf, fellowshipping with friends, dancing, and shooting pool. He always considered himself to be a true "Berkeley County boy" for he never resided outside of the County. In latter years, he mostly enjoyed watching football, especially the Clemson Tigers, and preparing meals for and spending time with his family. Surviving are, his wife, Nancy Fitzwater Wyndham; three daughters, Casy Wyndham of N. Charleston, Jennifer Wyndham Iseman and her husband, Eddie, of Goose Creek, and Melanie Wyndham of Moncks Corner; a son, Jason Wyndham of Goose Creek; a step-daughter, Mandi Magliano of Nashville; a step-son, Jeremy Horton and his wife, Amanda, of Harleyville; four grandchildren, Dane Rudd, Joshua Youngblood, Dashawn Richardson, and Jaden Wyndham; and eight step-grandchildren, Aiden Kilgore, Conner Magliano, Fisher Horton, Ellie Horton, Cassie, Cory, Chandler, and Chase Iseman. As my Dad's buckaroo I enjoyed growing up around The Oaks. I admired Mr. Tony as the leader of a great generation of good time having men. He was always smilin', stylin', profilin'...kiss stealing...wheelin' n' dealin'. Here's to keeping a few of those good ole time traditions rollin' as true as Mr. Tony's putter. Thoughts and prayers to the family and those good ole boys from The Oaks. -Wade Kornahrens (grandson of JC and son of Keith)
