To: Aunt Louise, Miriam, Jay, Kay and the West Family
Words will never be able to express my feelings regarding the loss of my cousin Bishop James C. West, Sr. He was truly a man of God and that was exemplified through his Christ like ways and the path he walked. He will forever be missed but certainly remember.
The scripture “I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me” Philippians 4:13 truly described James ways and I am extremely proud to have had him as a part of my life.
My prayers go out to the entire family and to all he had come in contact with.
Love you,
Carl Henry Jager

My heart goes out to the entire West family. I had the great honor and fortune to meet Bishop West and the family when Jay invited us down to Charleston during spring break in college and again later when we became roomates. I have been touched many times over the years when remembering the hospitality and kindness of the West family. He was a very kind and wise man and I know he will be certainly missed but not easily forgotten! You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

To the West family,
The good Bishop was a gentle, kind, gracious, and patient man. Nelda and I have many fond memories of working and visiting with him at various meetings. May the Lord comfort you with the sufficiency of His grace as you have felt the unexpectedness of His providence, knowing that God works all things together for good to those who love Him. To the West Family
Our family was shocked and sadden by the death of Bishop. Words have little comfort, but know that God will take care of all of you. Bishop was so kind and loving; I will miss knowing such a blessed individual is gone. The death of a neighbor, a friend, or a loved one brings us face to face with eternity. We dare not honor the life and death of another without being reminded of the fact that we, too, will die. The Bible teaches us that death is a kind of door leading to eternity and we will meet again.
