James Warren Obituary

WARREN, SR., James Mr. James Leo Warren, Sr., husband of Martha Hackney Warren, died Sunday evening at Orangeburg Regional Medical Center. He was 83. Mr. Warren was born in Cleveland, Ohio, August 20, 1924, a son of the late Leo M. Warren and Lula Carter Warren. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII, and was employed with Warren Building Supply in Williams for 51 years as a cabinet carpenter. Mr. Warren was a member of the Williams United Methodist Church. He loved spending time with his family and friends, as well as fishing and bird hunting. His love of his wife and family was the most important aspect of his life, and his grandchildren were his "pride and joy." Surviving, in addition to his wife of 55 years are one son, James Leo Warren, Jr., and wife Lynda, of Williams, and one daughter, Melissa Warren Will, and husband Mark, of Greer. There are three brothers, Maxwell, Rutledge, and Paul Warren, all of Williams, and three sisters, Miriam Wait, of Mt. Pleasant, Leonora Dobbins, of Williams, and Harriett Caldwell, of Walterboro. Mr. Warren is also survived by his loving grandchildren John and Sarah Will, and Caroline and James Connor Warren. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:00 in the Williams United Methodist Church, with Rev. David Cox officiating. Burial will follow in the Williams Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to services, and again immediately following the committal at the Warren Pond House in Williams. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to the Williams Cemetery Fund, c/o Beth Warren, P.O. Drawer 7, Williams, SC 29493.
