I had the pleasure of knowing Mr. Sigmon thru work projects at the mines and church. He was very courteous, fair and professional with me. I admired him for all he achieved in life and the work he did for the Lord. God bless his family.

To Virginia and Sigmon Family,
I am one among many whose heart is saddened with the news of the passing of James. Please accept my heart felt sympathy and know that my thoughts and prayers remain with you and family.
“On Goin' Home...
A Tribute to James Sigmon
“...I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine...” Isaiah 43:1.
On November 1, 2013 - God called James by Name -and on to a heavenly home. James was a generous man -one of great honor - who loved his God - sang praises to Him in the Christian Church Choir - helped those in need in the community... He and Virginia lived life with God.
I am also among many others who, for five years, called James and Sigmon Enterprises our employer - My story of “Goin' Home” is a unique one as I became an employee. I moved back home as a single mother with two kids, looking for work- at a direction that I can only determine came from God, I sent James a resume before making the move home. I arrived on a Sunday and began work for James & Sigmon Enterprises the following Thursday.
I had not only moved to the home of my childhood, I would now begin working at a location that was a part of the farm that my parents owned in the 1940's. The office and homes are situated on the grounds where I had played as a child... going to work each morning was like going home again... to wonderful childhood memories.
My story does not end there, nor is it the real tribute I want to offer. The employment at Sigmon Enterprises made a huge difference not only in my life but in the quality of life I could provide for my family as a result of this employment. Forever,I was and am grateful for this difference. I am sure that I'm just one in the midst of many who share a story of the difference that was made in life by having the privilege of knowing and working for James.
May you rest in peace James ... High on that mountain ... in your heavenly home.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Mr Sigmon. He was a true Southern gentleman that loved his family and community. Through his generosity the Williamsburg Hospital was able to open a state of the art Intensive Care Unit to serve the critically ill members of the community. I was truly blessed to be one of his nurses in the very unit his support made possible.
