CPO James Earl Russell, Sr. GOOSE CREEK, SC - CPO James Earl Russell, Sr., US Navy Ret., 73, of Goose Creek, SC, died Tuesday, June 14, 2011, peacefully at home. Born September 2, 1937 in Fort Barnwell, NC, he was one of four children of Jesse Kinsey Russell and Helen Marie Koonte Russell. He was a retired Chief Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Russell is survived by his sons: Glenn Russell and his wife Teresa of Moncks Corner, SC, Jerry Russell and his wife June of Goose Creek, SC and Ronnie Russell and his wife Tabatha of Grand Bay, AL; daughters, Wanda Wheat and her husband Carl of Goose Creek, SC and Mary Russell-Clary and her husband Darren of Elizabethtown, KY; 18 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; two brothers, J. K. Russell and his wife Brenda and Johnny Russell; sister, Joyce Tripp all of NC. He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy J. Russell; and son, James E. Russell, Jr. The funeral service will be held in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, Saturday, June 18, 2011 at 1:00 PM. Interment with full military honors to follow at Plantation Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends in Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel Friday, June 17, 2011 between 6:00 and 8:00 PM.
