James Robert Brown
LEXINGTON, SC - James Robert Brown, 84, of Trenton, SC, husband of Ann Sims Brown, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2025. at Wellmore of Lexington, SC.
He was born in Abbeville, SC, to the late Harvey H. and Bernice Wilson Brown, and is survived by his sister, Betty Jane Brown Acker (Jerry); and cousins, Barbara Wilson Wakefield, Calhoun Falls, SC; Wilma Reeves Phillips (Frank); James Albert (Jim) Wilson (Judy); and Jean Wilson Hammond of Edgefield, SC.
Robert lived in Charleston, SC, graduating from James Island High School in 1959 as Salutatorian of his class. He graduated from Clemson University, where he studied Chemical Engineering.
While at Clemson, he was a member of a musical ensemble, "The Blue Notes", being very proficient playing clarinet and saxophone.
Upon graduating from Clemson, Robert was employed by WESTVACO in Charleston. Later, he was employed by International Paper Company, Paducah, KY, later being promoted to a Louisiana facility within the organization.
Robert and Ann retired to Trenton, SC, with a new career at SCDHEC as a watchman over air quality, thus fulfilling his desire to give back to the world that had been so good to him. He had many friends in Trenton, and he and Ann were very active in the community and in the Trenton Presbyterian Church.
