James Morgan "Jimmy" Midgett SUMMERVILLE - James Morgan "Jimmy" Midgett, 77, of Summerville, husband of Brenda Fay (Marshall) Midgett, passed away Friday, May 26, 2023 at the Lowcountry Community Hospice House in Summerville following an illness. James was born March 18, 1946 in Norfolk, VA. A son of Henry and Mary (Worrell) Midgett, he enjoyed fishing, singing in the choir at Salem Baptist Church, spending time with his family, and beautifying Summerville and Charleston with his custom made benches and iron work from J & M Foundry, where he was the owner and operator for over 50 years until retirement. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Brenda Fay (Marshall) Midgett of Summerville, SC, daughters, Jaimie Newsome, Amy Frampton (Louie Frampton), and Morgan Taylor (Eugene Taylor), grandchildren, Bradley Tylee, Jacob Curtis, Dayton Brown (Dallis Brown), and Noah Newsome, and two great-grandsons. James was preceded in death by his father, Henry Robert Midgett, mother, Mary Hita (Worrell) Midgett, two brothers, and sister. A gathering of James's family and friends for a time of reflection, sharing and comfort will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at the James A. Dyal Funeral Home in Summerville. Services to honor James's life will follow at 12:00 P.M. in the James A. Dyal Funeral Home Chapel. Rites of Committal and Entombment will follow services at Dorchester Memory Gardens in Summerville.
