James McLendon Obituary

McLENDON, James James M. McLendon, 86, of Summerville, husband of Mary McLendon, died Saturday, October 25, 2008, at Colleton Regional Medical Center. Family and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at 11 o'clock at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 10360 Hwy. 78, Summerville. Inurnment is private. Mr. McLendon was born October 11, 1922 in Lucedale, Mississippi, son of the late Callie Otis McLendon and Allie Wiggins McLendon. Mr. McLendon was a World War II Veteran serving in the Army Air Corps. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and Chaplin of Summerville Fire Dept. A memorial message may be written to the family by visiting our website at www.jamesadyal.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist church, 10360 Hwy. 78, Summerville, SC 29483. Survivors, including Mrs. McLendon, are four sons; James McLendon of Virginia Beach, VA, Callie McLendon, Robert McLendon, and Glen McLendon all of Summerville; one daughter; Delores Faye DiFalco of Ft.. Lauderdale, FL and one sister; Vermell Stanton Gavin of Mobile, AL, ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren. ARRANGEMENTS BY JAMES A. DYAL FUNERAL HOME, 303 S.
