James McLaughlin Obituary

McLAUGHLIN, Sr., James James Joseph McLaughlin, Sr., 86, of Decatur, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2007, at the Decatur General Hospital. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 3, 2007, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Annunciation of the Lord Catholic Church. Rosary at 5:30 p.m. Burial in the Roselawn Cemetery. Father Ray Remke will officiate. Survivors include three sons, James J. McLaughlin, Jr., Apalachicola, FL, Raymond S. McLaughlin, Huntsville, AL, and Matthew V. McLaughlin, Decatur, AL; two daughters, Linda M. Travis, Selma, AL, Susan Bolan, Moulton, AL; two brothers, John McLaughlin, Charleston, SC, and Ralph McLaughlin, Charleston, SC; ten grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lois S. McLaughlin, a brother Donald McLaughlin, a grandchild James Joseph McLaughlin, III, and a great-grandchild Braydon James Bolan. Mr. McLaughlin was born August 21, 1920, in South Carolina to John F. and Marguerite McLaughlin. He was a member of Annunciation of the Lord Catholic Church. He graduated at Clemson University in 1941. He was employed by the Naval Shipyard in Charleston, S.C. He was a devoted husband and caregiver to his wife Lois During her 30 year illness. Memorials may be made to Annunciation of the Lord Catholic Church. Pallbearers will be Tyler H. Bolan, John A. McLaughlin, Robert O. McLaughlin, E. Glenn Bolan, William H. Travis and Joe Bolan.
