James Linder Obituary

James Linder HANAHAN - James Calvin Linder, 81, of Hanahan, SC, entered eternal rest on November 26, 2021. James was an avid woodworker and was blessed with a hardy green thumb. James was a graduate of Chicora High School, served in the U.S. Army, and after, graduated from Clemson University. After college James had a long and rewarding career as a Special Agent with the U.S. Naval Investigative Service. He was passionate about youth literacy and was a frequent volunteer at Hanahan Elementary School. He was a friend to many, was always happy to give his opinion (whether wanted or not) and will be greatly missed by all. He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin Baynard Linder and Evelyn Lucille Linder and is survived by his wife, Claudette, three sons, Mark, David (m. Carol), and Daniel (m. Torrey), five grandchildren, Tanner, Anna Grace, Nathan, Savannah, and Calvin, two great-grandchildren, Owen and Thatcher, and siblings, Carole Hall (m. Don), Mary King, Allen Linder (m. Mary), and Beth Watkins (m. Barry). A memorial and celebration of his life will be held Saturday, January 8, 2022, at the Hanahan Senior Center, 3100 Mabeline Road, from one o'clock p.m. to three o'clock p.m. Donations may be made to the American Lung Association.
