James Lea Obituary

James McIntosh Lea, III MT. PLEASANT - James McIntosh Lea III, 80, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, November 5, 2024. His graveside service will be held Sunday, November 17, 2024, in the Magnolia Cemeter,y 70 Cunnington Ave., Charleston, SC 29405, at 2:00 pm. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mount Pleasant Chapel. James was born February 17, 1944, in Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late James McIntosh Lea, Jr. and the late Irma Minges McIntosh. Jimmy was a graduate of Moultrie High School and University of South Carolina, where he was a Sigma Chi. He was a member of the St. Andrews Society. Jimmy served in the United States Coast Guard and later the Reserves. Jimmy worked in commercial transport and leasing in Atlanta, Milwaukee, and then returned to Charleston where he continued his career. He is survived by cousins, Laurie Minges of Mount Pleasant, SC, Sherry Minges of Johns Island, SC, and Richard Minges of Charlotte, NC; godson, Dr. Lee Royall of Mount Pleasant, SC. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Rose Vivian Lea. A memorial message may be sent to the family by visiting our website at www.jhenrystuhr.com.
