James Judy Obituary

James T. Judy, Sr. REEVESVILLE, SC - It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of the Patriarch of our family, James T. "Jimmy" Judy, Sr. Jimmy passed away Saturday, September 6th, at home in the loving company of his wife, when God chose the moment to call him home. For that, his family is deeply thankful. Born and raised on the family farm in Reevesville, SC, Jimmy learned early the value of hard work and a love for the land. Those lessons shaped his life and carried over into his career as a skilled pipefitter at the shipyard, and owner and operator of Judy's Appliance Service, serving his community with the same dedication and grit he put into every endeavor. Never one to stop learning or chasing opportunities, he continued with various ventures. An extremely capable man, Jimmy never shied away from challenges. He believed in working hard and playing even harder, and he passed on to his children and grandchildren the conviction that with determination, anything was possible. Jimmy proudly served in the National Guard and carried that same spirit of service into his work as a Master Mason and a Shriner. As a Hillbilly with the Shriners Hospital, he loved to joke, tease, and keep people laughing. While he supported many organizations, he loved none more than the Shriners Children's Hospital. He was, at his core, the cornerstone of his family and a man who thrived in the company of others. He loved life and the outdoors-gardening, hunting, fishing, crabbing at the beach (often with the wrong size net), and enjoying days around his home or in the river. Above all, he loved moving dirt; altering the land with heavy equipment brought him joy like nothing else. He was most at peace working the soil, watching things grow, and being part of the rhythms of nature. Jimmy was a master storyteller, a lover of good conversation, and always the life of the party. He adored people who could laugh with him, and he had a way of turning strangers into friends and family into legends in his stories. Mischievous and fun-loving, he left behind a trail of laughter and unforgettable memories. Jimmy leaves behind his devoted wife of 25 years, Frances M. Judy, five children, James T. "Tommy" Judy, Jr., wife Deborah (Gregory, Breanne, Evan) Tracie J. Foster, husband, Adam (Mason, Maddie, Addison, Vivian, Stella), Lewis B. Judy, wife, Laura (Kelsey, Coby, Raylan) Jonathan Judy, wife, Sheryl (Kaitlin, Callie, Josh, Jared, Alisa), Josh Stewart, and 17 great-grandchildren, along with his "Bubba" and best friend, Bobby Judy (Mary) of Clover, SC, loving sister, Sylvia Williams (Henry) of Orangeburg, SC, many cousins, extended family, countless friends, and he is now reunited in heaven with his brother and sister, L.B. Judy and Joyce Bozard. His absence is profound and deeply felt, but his memory will live on in the stories told, the lessons remembered, and the laughter shared by all who loved him. It is impossible to fully capture how much Jimmy meant to his family and community. To know him was to know joy, love, and laughter. May he rest in peace, and may we carry forward the spirit he so generously shared. There will be a private burial, then a celebration of life will be determined at a later date for all family and friends.
