James Hutto Obituary

James Walter Hutto, Jr. AUGUSTA, GA - Entered into rest Thursday, December 11, 2014, Mr. James Walter Hutto, Jr., 55, loving husband of 25 years to Ashlyn M. Hutto. James had lived in Augusta since 1986. He worked at American Concrete as the Vice President of Sales and was in charge of commercial and residential concrete sales. He loved his work and the people he worked with and for. All of them were treated to his "Good Morning" cheeriness and bright smile. He held many concrete-related certifications in Georgia and nationally. He was a graduate of Holly Hill Academy. He attended Newbery College and earned a Marketing degree from Augusta State University in 2012. He was a member of St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church, where he was a Eucharistic Minister and served on various committees. James was Past President of IAHS. He worked on Evening in Ireland and Arts in the Hearts. He was also a loyal member of the Knights of Columbus. He served on the Board of Directors and was a member of the Georgia Concrete Products Association. He was a past officer and member of the Builders Association of Metro Augusta, Past President and member of Professional Construction Estimators Association, past member of the Boys and Girls Club of Augusta. He loved his father's house on Lake Marion and loved his family vacations at the beach. James was a true friend and loved to help others and would do anything for you. A funeral Mass will be Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church with Fr. Gerald Ragan celebrant. Burial will follow in Westover Memorial Park. Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Regan, Tim Wright, Laurence Hutto, Barry Hutto, Bryan Hutto, John Fain, Scott Davis, and William Young. Family members in addition to his wife include his son: J. Walter III; daughter: Camilla Anne; father: James Walter Hutto; sisters: Doris (Gene) King, Lillian Hutto; brother: Bryan (Tami) Hutto; mother-in-law: Barbara G. Mulherin; sister-in-law: Mary Anne (John) McCollum; brothers-in-law: Eddie Mulherin (Leanne), John Mulherin (Debbie); and 8 very loved nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother: Dollsie; sister: Camilla; father-in-law: Bernard J. Mulherin, Sr.; and brother-in-law: Buzz Mulherin. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary on the Hill School, 1220 Monte Sano Avenue, Augusta, GA 30904, Aquinas High School, 1920 Highland Avenue, Augusta, GA 30904, Holly Hill Academy, P.O. Box 757, Holly Hill, SC 29059, or to Mesothelioma Applied Research Center, 1317 King St., Alexandria, VA 22314.
