Stan was a wonderful person. He was a positive, motivating force in my life, as well as the lives of many other cadets. I, as many others, will miss him dearly. Through his work at The Citadel, Stan laid a solid foundation that benefits current and future cadets. Numerous cadet athletes had the opportunity to attend The Citadel because of Stan's hard work and dedication. Stan truly made The Citadel and the world a better place.

Sharon, my deepest sympathy on the death of Stan. I fondly remember seeing both of you at Citadel events years ago and have missed seeing you in recent years. Stan did so many things to support The Citadel. My husband Thad Timmons was in Stans class, and you and I were at North Augusta High School together.

To the family and close friends of Stan Hurteau, I offer my condolences on his death. Stan was a respectful gentleman, and a man of integrity who was supportive and encouraging. We worked together when I was employed in the former South Carolina National Bank's loan department, and at the former Liberty/Southern National Bank. He was a wonderful person to work for, and had a great personality. He was always willing to listen to your ideas and did what he could to help you accomplish it. I have not seen Stan in many years, but think of him every now and then. He made a huge impact on my life and the lives of all that worked with and for him. You have my deepest sympathy and may his soul rest in the Lord.

Stan and I were friends, and duck hunting buddies for twenty-five years. I first met Stan at the Wimbee landing, where I am certain his spirit still jokes, and engages in good-hearted ribbing over missed opportunities.... And then maybe a little nip...Always a positive reflection, even when we only saw Mergansers....My sincere condolences to Jamie, and all of Stan's family. He was one of the TRUE GENTLEMEN it was my pleasure to have known.... Godspeed....... Dick McIntyre Lobeco, SC

Dear Sharon, Jamie and Family, I remember Stan very fondly. He was a terrific boss while I worked for him at SCN Bank in the Installment Loan Department many, many years ago. I will never forget his great devotion to The Citadel, Ducks Unlimited, Rotary, and I am sure many other wonderful organizations. I was so excited to informally meet Jamie who was on his dock a few months back while I was visiting my friends, the Schmidts, and told him how I was his dad's secretary way back when he was just a baby. I know Stan will be greatly missed and I wanted to let you know how sorry I am for your loss.
