Sparky was a good friend from the Crystal Tankard days when my sang there and her sister served drafts all night till the days working together at the Coastal Carolina Fair. Great man, fireman and volunteer. Lost a 1 in a million when he passed.

I became good friends with Sparky through many years of sharing the lawn at Rockville Regatta. He and his family were one of my favorite scenes each August and he always jumped up to throw his arms around me in a geat, hugging greeting. I am honored to have spent time with him and your family, and to have called him friend. May God bless you all. Janet Sosnowski

My first entry went missing
Maybe Jimmy took it
I called him 'Mr. Fabulous' because well he was
Whenever you asked how he was or what he was doing it was always fabulous
He was my brother- in-law and my friend
As everyone has already said he would do and did do anything for anyone
He had the biggest heart of all
He will be missed
He was so loved by us all

Jimmy loved to make people laugh with a joke or his tripping or getting hit with the door act. He was also the best Santa ever. I worked with him for many years and as much as he loved the CFD, he loved his family more. Jimmy, tell the other guys hi for us. We will all meet again one day.

I was Sparky's Realtor, when he sold the house on Maple Street. You get to know people well when you help them in a real estate transaction. Sparky was one of my favorite clients of all times. He never had a bad day. His positive attitude and high spirit was infectious. He spoke so highly of his wife and son and daughter, you knew how much he loved his family. I am saddened for your loss. Sparky was a special person and will be missed. Raina Rubin

Your grit and determination drove you to your calling as a fire fighter. Your virtue and willingness to help others will reap benefits for those you have helped for years to come.
A hero’s welcome awaits you, the public servant, at the gates of your creator – the celebrations will include a distinguished team of your fallen comrades.
Sparky, it is to your credit that you have been able to enrich the lives of your fellow man – including the Fire Fighter youth who followed the path of their Mentor > Chief James Howard.
Jimmy, your greatest legacy is the beautiful family you leave behind, God speed my friend!

That's how I remember him from our days growing up on Maple Street. He was such a kindhearted person. It's a trait you both share. Deepest sympathies to Jimmy's wife and children. As Jimmy rests in God's eternal peace, may all the wonderful memories you and your family have bring you comfort during this very difficult time.

Julie, I am so very sorry for your loss.
Sparky, such great memories I have with you & Julie. You were like family to me growing up. A “Big Brother” figure, you were such a great role model for me. The fond memories, camping trips, Rockville Regatta, The Hill, The Brick House at Edisto, Maple Street, sharing the same birthday and so many more. To this day can’t understand why you and Julie let us tag along with you all always but I am grateful… RIP my friend and may God wrap his loving arms around Julie, Lauren & Jimmy.

To all the Howard family, I offer my most sincere condolences. Your family has been such a major part of my life, that I hold each as close to my heart as if we were brothers and sisters. Jimmy from early on had that certain charisma, you knew he was going to give 100% to whatever he was focused on. At some point, he was was going to make you laugh and you knew that no matter what was going on, he'd be there to help. Sparky, I will miss you!!!
