Sparky was a good friend from the Crystal Tankard days when my sang there and her sister served drafts all night till the days working together at the Coastal Carolina Fair. Great man, fireman and volunteer. Lost a 1 in a million when he passed.

Sparky is a dear friend and important part of our lives. Your family is our family. He will be always remembered and forever missed. He touched our hearts like no one else could. We love and miss you Sparky! Until we meet again!

I became good friends with Sparky through many years of sharing the lawn at Rockville Regatta. He and his family were one of my favorite scenes each August and he always jumped up to throw his arms around me in a geat, hugging greeting. Jimmy loved to make people laugh with a joke or his tripping or getting hit with the door act. He was also the best Santa ever. I worked with him for many years and as much as he loved the CFD, he loved his family more. Jimmy, tell the other guys hi for us. We will all meet again one day.

I was Sparky's Realtor, when he sold the house on Maple Street. You get to know people well when you help them in a real estate transaction. Sparky was one of my favorite clients of all times. He never had a bad day. His positive attitude and high spirit was infectious. He spoke so highly of his wife and son and daughter, you knew how much he loved his family. I am saddened for your loss. I've known Sparky for many a year and can honestly say he was never in a sour mood and an absolute pleasure to be around. He was a genuine man and I'm proud to have known Sparky!

I worked with Sparky at Poplar Grove and quickly form an important freindship. Always with a quick witted line, he had a way of making you laugh when you needed it. The world has lost a great man and he will be missed by so many people. Peace my friend.

Jean, I cannot begin to tell you how truly sorry I was to hear that Jimmy passed away. I couldn't help but notice that every picture posted shows him with a big smile! That's how I remember him from our days growing up on Maple Street. He was such a kindhearted person. It's a trait you both share. Deepest sympathies to Jimmy's wife and children. I got to know Jimmy from my family and working the fair. He did the service at my brothers wedding. Sparky is and always will be a wonderful man. Sparky was always there for anyone. He was always fun to be around. Sparky always talked very highly about his family, he loved them very much. Sparky is a hero to alot of us. I had the honor and pleasure of working for Sparky at his Crystal Tankard Bar in 1978. My younger sister, Tammy, played guitar gigs there to packed houses. Some crazy, memorable times! We adored him, and I recall his generosity and kindness. My condolences to his family. Rest in peace, Fireman!

Julie: I am so sorry for your loss. The world has lost one awesome human being and heaven has gained one! I will never forget all the good times we had before our children were born. Jimmy was always there for me. What a dear friend! More than anything I deeply appreciate the way he took Amy under his wing and was always there for her. His passing is a huge loss to so many. You had the swagger of a giant and a heart as big as one too. You were always there with a helping hand whenever it was needed. You had a boisterous sense of humor and knew how to put anyone at ease.
