James Hayne Obituary

HAYNE, III, James Mr. James Adams Hayne, III, died Tuesday, March 25, 2008 in the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro after an extended illness. Born June 24, 1937 in Marlboro County, SC, he was the son of the late Dr. James A. Hayne, Jr. and Lorraine Stahl Hayne. A 1962 graduate of Clemson University, Mr. Hayne had retired as a Captain in the United States Air Force and was later a supervisor at Scotsman Co. in Fairfax, SC and was a past member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Hampton. He was an avid golfer and sportsman. He is survived by two daughters, Lorraine Hayne Sands and husband James of Atlanta, GA and Jennifer Adams Hayne of Tampa, FL; one brother, John Foster and wife Joye of Varnville; three sisters, Lorraine Bay Larisey and husband Billy of Hilton Head, SC, Margaret Foster Curtis of Ridgeland and Mary Bitsy Preston of Mt. Pleasant, SC. There are two grandsons, James Andrew Sands and William Mitchell Sands. A memorial service will be held Monday, March 31, 2008 at 11 AM in the All Saints Episcopal Church in Hampton. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be directed in his honor to: All Saints Episcopal Church 511 Jackson Ave., Hampton, SC 29924 or St. Johns Episcopal Church, 1101 Elm Savannah Road, Hopkins, SC 29061.
