Mrs. Grippon and family, I am so sorry to learn of Scout Master Grippon death please accept my heartfelt sympathy.
Mr. Grippon spent time with us as Scout Master for Troop 111 and taught us how to apply the Boy Scout Oath to our daily life. Scouting was a wonderful and valued experience, learning about camping, boating and how to build things. I will always remember him and be grateful for his kindness and time he spent with our Pack 111.
Mr. James Edward Grippon taught us the oath by example.
Boy Scout Oath/Promise:
Duty to God and country; Duty to other people and Duty to self

To the Grippon family and friends of Mr. James "Jimmy" Grippon, I offer condolences in the death of your beloved Jimmy. Please know that my family and I are praying that God our Father will grant you peace and comfort during your time of bereavement.

Mr. Grippon always had such a pleasant demeanor and a giving, sweet spirit. I had the pleasure of working with him in the 80´s and early 90´s with the Boy Scout program at St. James Presbyterian Church USA. It was a joy to work with him. As Scout Master, he did so much to insure that the scouts knew how to be productive well-rounded citizens. He spent countless weekends camping with them (in his backyard, on the church grounds and/or Camp Ho Non Wah on Wadmalaw Island). He also went boating and hiking with them. The scouts learned to respect the service of others when, on Veterans Day and Memorial Day, he tasked the scouts with placing flags on all identifiable veterans graves in the cemetery. He took his leadership role seriously and his attendance could be counted on at the monthly Pack meeting and the yearly Pinewood Derby.

He made a difference in the lives of many, and he will certainly be missed.

Psalm 100 Verse 5"For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting; and His truth endureth to all generations".
