James Gilmore Obituary

James Daniel Gilmore HANAHAN - James Daniel Gilmore, age 80, of Hanahan SC, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, August 7, 2011, at a local hospital. He was born in Sanford NC on December 30, 1930, to the late Walter Russell Gilmore and Grace Holt Gilmore. He was a wonderful husband, father, and granddad. He served his country in the United States Navy. He was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church, Hanahan SC. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and coaching baseball. James is survived by his wife: Katie Chubb Gilmore of Hanahan, SC; sons: Rusty Gilmore (Marsha) of MO, and Mark Gilmore (Susan) of Lebanon, SC; grandchildren: Jennifer Gilmore of NC, Eleanor Anne Gilmore of Lebanon SC, and Claire Gilmore of Lebanon, SC. He was preceded in death by his brothers: Rev. Max Gilmore, and Rex Gilmore. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, August 10, 2011, at Highland Park Baptist Church, 6211 Murray Drive, Hanahan, SC 29410. Rev. Bob Nichols officiating. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 9, at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston SC from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. The family is gratefully accepting floral tributes in honor of James Gilmore, or memorials may be made in his honor to Highland Park Baptist Church, 6211 Murray Drive, Hanahan, SC 29410.
