James Gilbert Obituary

James "Jim" Henry Gilbert SUMMERVILLE - James "Jim" Henry Gilbert, 74, of Summerville, South Carolina, husband of Mary Jean T. Glacken Gilbert entered into eternal rest Monday, September 16, 2024. His Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, September 21, 2024, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Northwoods Chapel. Jim was born September 21, 1949, in Portsmouth, Virginia, son of the late William Curtis Gilbert and the late Inez Reynolds Gilbert. He served his county in the United States Air Force, was a Vietnam Veteran and retired after 26 years of service. Jim went on to retire from Honeywell after many years. In addition to his wife, Mary Jean of 53 years, he is survived by daughter, Jennifer Catherine Hoffmann (Matthew) of Shalimar, FL, and grandson, Brendan James Hoffmann; and daughter, Dianne Marie Lang (Michael); and grandson, Connor Michael Lang of Charleston, SC; sister, Barbara A. Howard of Chesapeake, VA; and Fur Baby, Bailey. In Lieu of flowers, please make a donation to an organization of your choice in Jim's memory.
