James Flynn Obituary
He was born on Feb. 6, 1945, in Pittston, a son of the late James E. Sr. and Frances O’Boyle Flynn. He was a graduate of Hughestown High School and a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Pittston.
He had been employed by Westinghouse Corporation, Maislin Motor Lines and as a supervisor for Marketeers Cold Storage. Prior to his illness, he had been employed by Dupont Motor Lines.
Jimmy was lead singer and lead guitar player for the band Sunrise Junction. He was a U.S. Army veteran. An avid horseman for many years, Jimmy competed in numerous equestrian events with his horse, Charlie.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, the former Kathleen Gubino; brother Patrick and wife Sandra, Highland Hills, Pittston; nephews Pat, Shaun and Ryan Flynn; great-nephew Mickey Flynn; mother-in-law Mary Gubino, Pittston; brother-in-law Robert Gubino, Dupont; niece Marcie Gubino, Dupont; and faithful companion, Jamie.
The funeral will be held Thursday morning at 11:30 a.m. from the Howell-Lussi Funeral Home, 509 Wyoming Ave., West Pittston. A Mass of Christian Burial follows at noon in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Pittston.
Interment will be in Mountain View Burial Park, Harding
Friends may call on Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
