James Flood Obituary

FLOOD, SR., James Entered into eternal rest on the morning of Monday, April 25, 2005, Mr. James (Jack) Madison Flood, Sr., 79, husband of Clarsie Grooms Flood of Bonneau. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. James (Jack) Madison Flood, Sr., are invited to attend the funeral services of the former at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 28, 2005 at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Friends may call from the hour of 6 until 9 p.m. Wednesday evening at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home. He was born January 16, 1926 in Charleston, to the late Augustus McDonald Flood and Ida Robertson Flood. He served in the US Army as a combat engineer earning the Rank of Sergeant during the Korean War. He was the owner of Jack Floods Auto Service and a mechanic for over forty-nine years. He worked for Hutsons Dealership for 17 years and with Langstons Motors in Summerville for 25 years. He is a Methodist. He is survived by his wife Clarsie Grooms Flood of Bonneau; two daughters, Patricia E. Marshall (Tom) of Summerville, Cheryl A. Kinner (Thomas) of Summerville; four sons, James (Jackie) M. Flood, Jr. (Lynn M.) of Summerville, Richard H. Flood (Charlotte) of Goose Creek, David F. Flood (Cathy) of Harleyville, and Walton Flowers (Libby) of Lake City; two sisters, Nell Rhett Brown of Saluda and Margaret F. Higdon of Charleston; 11 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, and six step-great-grandchildren. Flowers will be accepted or memorials can be made to the Charleston Cancer Center, 2910 Tricom Street, Charleston, SC 29406. Funeral services provided by CAROLINA MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME.
