James Durfee Obituary

James Lee Durfee MT. PLEASANT - James Lee Durfee (51) passed away suddenly on February 23, 2022. He was born on July 6, 1970 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He attended East Henderson High, NC ('88) and obtained a BA from UNC-Asheville ('96); eventually moving to Charleston, SC to start his own business, Lowcountry Tile + Hardwood Contractors. 'Jimmy" loved exercising, motorcycles, time with family/friends, cigars and the outdoors. He was an extraordinary man with great sense of humor, contagious smile, and he impacted many lives - most recently as an amazing father figure. He took pride in his business/accomplishments in the community, yet was humble as the the go-to guy/team for communities as Old Village, Mt. Pleasant and Kiawah Island - Cassique community. He is survived by his parents, James Donald (Judy) Durfee; his love, Abril Pacheco- and her daughter, Miah Grace, in addition to extended family in WI and CO. At this time, family is asking for thoughts and prayers as they grieve. Longtime close friends have planned a Celebration of Life on March 20 at residence of Lisa (George) Richart-Hernandez. Continued thoughts, prayers, love + light for all in your family. Your Jimmy was one-of-a-kind and always so kind to all whom he encountered. I am beyond blessed, humbled and honored to call him my most long-term and dearest friend of over 30 years.
May he rest in peace until we meet again ~
