James Dunning Obituary

James "Jimmy" Dunning, Sr. Edisto Island - James "Jimmy" Dunning, Sr., 74, of Edisto Island and formerly of Clemson, husband of Deborah Graham Dunning, passed away peacefully at his home Saturday, May 5, 2018. He was born in Orangeburg County July 22, 1943, a son of the late William Edward Dunning, Sr. and Mable Scott Dunning. A graduate of Branchville High School, he had a career in textile plant management with Greenwood Mills, Milliken, and Emb-Tex. Jimmy is survived by his wife of 43 years, Debbie; a son, James "Jamie" (Whitney) Dunning, Jr. all of Edisto Island; daughters, Sandra Dunning Evatt, Central, and Angie Dunning Wellborn, Shelby, NC; a sister, Vera (Bill) DuBose, St. Matthews; brothers, William E. Dunning, Jr., Panama City, FL, and Robert (Gayle) Dunning, Sr., Blythewood; 10 grandchildren and a great-grandson. A memorial service conducted by the Rev. Tommy Huggins will be held Saturday, May 12, 2018, 2:00 p.m. at Harleyville Christian Church. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Memorials may be made to Animal Lovers of Edisto Canine Rescue, 8112 Palmetto Rd., Edisto Island, SC 29438; or to Harleyville Christian Church, PO Box 246, Harleyville, SC 29448.
