James Danko Obituary

James Danko Mt. Pleasant - James Reynolds Danko, 33, of Mt. Pleasant, SC entered into eternal rest with his heavenly Father, on August 22, 2017. He was born on April 4, 1984 in Columbia, SC to John Danko Jr. and Deborah K. (Reynolds) Danko of Mt. Pleasant, SC. James Reynolds Danko was a graduate of Spring Valley High School, in Columbia. He then attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering. James then worked as as construction project engineer for The Beck Group in Atlanta, Ga., while simultaneously and impressively earning his Master of Science in Building Construction from Georgia Institute of Technology. Additionally, while in Atlanta James completed a substantial amount of postgraduate courses in Emory University's MBA program. James then moved to San Francisco, CA where he earned his Juris Doctor from Santa Clara University School of Law. After gaining experience and education across the country, James returned home to be close to family and friends to welcome his son, Grant, into this world. Armed with knowledge and determination, James was admitted to practice law in South Carolina, as well as, the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina. He then founded Danko Law, LLC where he applied his knowledge of the law to areas in which he was experienced and passionate, most contently practicing construction defect litigation. Much to the amazement of many, James was also a Licensed General Contractor, Construction Manager, Residential Builder, AND Home Inspector. While his educational and professional accomplishments are impressive, even more so was his love and dedication to his family. He was a loving father to his son, Grant. Grant was the light of James' life, just as James is, and always will be, the light of Grant's life. He will be so missed by everyone he touched. He is survived by his wife, J. Sterling Chillico, of Mt. Pleasant, SC; son, Grant Carrington Danko, of Mt. Pleasant, SC; Parents John Danko Jr. and Deborah K. (Reynolds) Danko, of Mt. Pleasant, SC; brother, John Danko III, of Tucson, AZ; sisters; Angela Nicole Danko, of Phoenix, AZ and Melissa J. Trombley, of Medina, OH; grandmother, Dorothy V. Stevic, of Harlingen, TX; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Mr and Mrs Danko, I was sorry to read about Jimmy's passing. God has called him at a young age. I think they must need a good lawyer in heaven. Know that all of you are in my prayers. I loved having him at SJN. God bless! Dr.A. Sr. Canice

Jimmy Danko, yes your given name is James but you will always be Jimmy to me, and I have known you for many years. You have continued to awe and amaze me with your humor, your committment to the law, your devotion to your family, your intelligence, your ability to tackle and solve complex problems, as well as the respect and admiration you have shown to those with whom you have established lifelong friendships. In my humble opinion, you will always be a remarkable young man who accomplished many wonderful things in a very short period of time. There are no words adequate to express how heartfelt and filled with sorrow I am as I write this. I will never forget you and the many happy memories you shared with me and my family. You touched us all in so many positive ways. MJLawracy
