James Colarusso Obituary

June 27, 2004
James Colarusso of Pittston passed away Sunday at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
He was born on Oct. 29, 1922, in Pittston, son of the late Carlo and Nella (D'Adamo) Colarusso.
Mr. Colarusso was a graduate of Pittston High School and served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He was the proud owner of Pittston Furniture. He was previously employed by Barton's and Klemow's, as well as Boston Hardware and Bonomo Carpeting. He recently retired from Giant Floor and Wall. He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Pittston, and the Serradifalco Society, Pittston.
Mr. Colarusso was preceded in death by a sister, Lena Baldo, and a grandson, Joseph Keating.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, the former Leona Abbott; daughters, Diane Keating and Patricia Pocceschi, both of Pittston; son, Carl, South Carolina; sister, Anne Testa, Pittston ; seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Friends may call Tuesday 6 to 9 p.m. at the Peter J. Adonizio Funeral Home, 802 Susquehanna Ave., West Pittston.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Building Fund, 237 William St., Pittston, PA 18640. The funeral will be at the convenience of the family.
