James Carrigan Obituary

Please excuse belated response - I am so sorry for your loss . Jimmy was truly a great one. We went to Garrett together and he framed my house 25 years ago and let me help. I read through the postings and it just substantiated my impressions of Jimmy as he had supreme humility and greatness as a human being.

I sat down for lunch and thought about my friend and looked up his name to reach out and say hello. I am floored and heart broken to find only his obituary. I wish I would have done this sooner. I want to cry.

Cathy, Karen and family What a joy to have this man walk this life with us. Jimmy was truly a very special and unique man that you just don't find too often. I will always have fond memories from a child through adulthood to carry with me and I will miss him. You remain in my thoughts and prayers and I know Jimmy is peacefully at rest now. You were so blessed. I hope that thought brings you some comfort.

I am so sorry to hear of James passing. He was like a brother to me. He and Michael had so many good times together. I remember going to his house with Michael to ride horses. I will cherish those memories forever. James was such a good man. He brightened many peoples lives just with his presence. He has that grin that would just make your day. James and Michael are in heaven riding their Harley's. Just know that I am thinking of you in this difficult time.

We will miss you James. You worked so hard and fought so long but mostly we will miss that smile and laugh.

I've known James since I started working at Pelican on Johns Island. He was an incredible person, a hard working man and always had a smile. I dont think I've ever known anyone that loved his job more than James did. More than once he would say he wished there were 8 days in the week and 40 hours in a day so he could work every single one. He took pride in his work yet he was humble, and such a friendly man. I have thought of him often, and will always remember his smile, that bandana he wore, and what a good man he was. "Muscles", rest in peace my friend. I know you've got a hammer in one hand and a tape measure in the other, wherever you are, and I'm sure you're going to remodel it to perfection.

James had a special place in my heart along with his beautiful family. My heart Truly hurts to hear of his passing. Mrs. Cathy, Amy, Scott you are all in my thoughts and prayers. He isn't gone...he's just gone ahead. We will see him again. Love y'all

My son Michael and James I called both my son,s. I lost Michael in 1995. James filled the hole in my life. Now there is even a bigger hole in my life. We had many a father and son talks, going to and returning from hunting club. He would ask my advice on many things, and I would answer him as best I could. James helped me build my home on Johns Island , over looking my 10 acre lake. If I needed help with anything, he seemed to know. I never had to ask, Michael and James would just show up. Being the man I know James was, he fought the the greatest fight of his life. He smiled at death, and said I am not giving up. After the fight,God called him. I know his family will miss him, but I loved him also.

CATHY I AM SO SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT JAMES.YOU AND YOUR FAMILY ARE IN MY PRAYERS JAMES WAS A GREAT GUY, SEEN HIM A FEW MONTHS AGO AND HE SAID NO MORE CHEMO HE WANTED TO BE WITH FAMILY UNTIL THE END GOD BLESS YOU AND THE FAMILY.

Dear Cathy, I don't have the best words to describe just what JAMES meant to me: confidant , trusting, confident, beyond capable, caring, but, mostly, a FRIEND.
I have prayed for you both for quite some time but, of course, GOD answers our prayers in different ways. Now he is with our FATHER and has no pain or suffering.
I don't think I will be able to attend his funeral but, please accept my deepest sympathy. You are in my prayers.

I am deeply sorry for you and the family's loss. James loved you and treasured his family and his shared family time with you all. He was happy in his well accomplished world. James was highly respected,admired,and loved by the many lives he touched throughout his lifetime. He was genuine and a man of his word. As I had always told James, he was the hardest working man I've ever known, next to my Dad. I will dearly miss my sweet childhood friend, a great warrior of a man, and his beautiful infectious smile.

James was a very special man. We looked forward to seeing him around in his red truck. He was the sweetest, positive man and always made you feel better when seeing his smiling face. He will be greatly missed by all.

Dear Cathy and family,

I was heartbroken with all of you when I heard the sad news today. James was the hardest working, most upbeat, and encouraging person. He was certainly one of the most honorable men I've ever known. His endless patience and professionalism and sense of humor with my never ending projects, made my journey so much brighter. I so very much appreciate his dedication and tolerance for the aggravation that many of my projects must have caused. Everyday on the job, he spoke of you Cathy, and he was so very proud of his family and of being called Grumpy.

Thank you for sharing this incredible man who taught me so much about kindness and strength and perseverance. He and you and your family will always hold a very dear spot in my heart. Love to you all.

Cathy, so sorry for your loss. I know that James is at peace and smiling down at you. Never a time that he did not have that grin or smile that greeted everyone. Gonna miss seeing that big RED ford coming down the road and his friendly greeting "Hey...what's up!"

Cathy, as you know James was a wonderful man.Prayers for you and your family during this difficult time .For James leaving his family was the most difficult thing he ever had to do .He will miss all of you, as you'all will miss him dearly.

i used to see James 5 days a week when i worked on Johns Island. He always had a smile on his face and a positive attitude. Even after he was diagnosed, he never let that stop him from being positive. Was so sad to hear of his passing. He was a good man and will be greatly missed!! Prayers to the family!!
