James Breitling Obituary

James Douglas Breitling, Jr. EUREKA SPRINGS, AR - James Douglas "Doug" Breitling, Jr., age 73, of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, passed away on March 7, 2023 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Doug was born on October 5, 1949, in Canyon, Texas, to James D. Breitling, Sr. and Buena Vista Walker Breitling. He married Beverly Gowder on January 13, 1979 in Athens, Georgia. Doug served in the United States Navy and was a Supply Corp. Officer. After retiring from the Navy, he attended the Citadel and received his Master's Degree in Business Administration. Doug worked with AmeriCorps in Charleston, South Carolina for seven years. Doug and Beverly moved to Eureka Springs, where they owned and operated Arsenic and Old Lace Bed & Breakfast for 17 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Breitling and Buena Vista Breitling. Doug is survived by his wife of 44 years, Beverly; their dog, Sandi; brother, Mike Breitling and wife, Susie, and their daughters, Kalynn and Ann-Claire; brother, Randy Breitling and wife, Debbie, and their children, Kristen, Meredith, and Connor; and brother, Anthony Breitling and wife, Janice, and their children, Jana, Kara, and Toni.
