What an amazing role model Coach Boyce was for kids. I had the honor and the privilege of working with Jimmy at North Charleston for several years. He will be missed. Sincerest condolences. RIP, Coach.

Jimmy was a big brother for me a knob in 1973-74. Kind and a big help in fitting in the culture of The Citadel. He had a quick smile & an encouraging word.

As a former football player who was taught by Coach Boyce I can remember the two a day practices that were so tough but he was always there to help us along and give us the extra motivation boost we all needed. The world needs more people like Coach Boyce. He is a model to young men finding their way in the world.

Dawn already wrote here, but I want to say that Jimmy was a big, COOL guy. I remember him holding the Nochas record for the discus throw.

Annie, Marion, and Sarah Nell, I am so sorry to hear of Jimmy´s passing. Please accept my heartfelt condolences. I have firsthand knowledge of the exemplary husband and father that Jimmy was. His devotion to his family was quite evident. When I think of that group, Rabon, Gaetke, Jimmy, Jack and Mike Peek; they were so much fun. We enjoyed each other, worked very hard and managed to win a few games along the way. That was a special time in my life as a football coach. Now we all have to hold Jimmy´s memory dearly. I hope these memories put a smile on all of your faces as the mention of Jimmy´s name does on mine.
With deepest sympathy,
Rusty Davis
