I was sorry to hear of Uncle Jimmy's passing. He was married to my father's sister Betty. I have fond memories as a child of Uncle Jimmy. Ricky, I hope all is well.

Ellen and I knew Jim as a very active member of the Oak Terrace Elem. School (now J. Howard Berry Elem. School) PTA. In fact, Jim was very much involved with Doc Hersey and the school board in promoting the name change. Henry Brown was also active there and I am certain that he learned some of his early lessons in politics from Jim ! Our prayers are for Ricky and the family. I served with Mr. Bennett on the North Charleston Planning Commission for several years. He was most gracious and very knowledgeable. I always enjoyed talking with him. A true southern gentleman. My thoughts are with you at this time.

Dear Gwem, I was so sorry to hear of Jim's death but God was ready for him to come home and be free of pain. It is a terrible loss to you but he is at rest now. Jim was such a nice, kind gentleman. My thoughts and prayers are with you. If there is anything I can do, please let me know. Love you,

Gwen and family,
This is really hard to do when you know and care for someone as much as we cared about Jim. I will always remember how humble and sincere Jim was to everyone he met.
Danny and I were very glad to be able to call Gwen and Jim our friends. No matter how Jim felt he always had a smile on his face.
Gwen we are here for you if you need anything. We love you.
