Jim was an honest breath of fresh air, sharing his heart with everyone who came his way. He didn't do "political correctness" but he treated people as he wanted to be treated, fair and square, with a laugh and twinkle in his eye. He loved you deeply, Dianne, and that's a rare and treasured thing in this world. He will always live in our hearts.

Dear Dianne,
I was so saddened to read of Jim's death in Newsday today. I know he has been ill for a long time but it is always such a shock when a loved one passes.
My thoughts and prayers are with you. I know how difficult the days ahead will be and I can only tell you from my experience that you must be patient and allow time to help you accept your grief and loneliness.
Best wishes to you and your family.

Dear Dianne Bates & Family,
I am so sorry to hear about Jim. I would like to extend my deepest condolences to you, your son's and all family in the recent demise of your beloved husband,
James Bates on Thursday, 10/4/2012. Jim was a pleasant man, and tried very hard with his illness. My late brother, Ralph, had nice things to say about him, too. Many of God's Blessings to him in God's Heavenly Kingdom. May he rest in peace always and forever. Continued Blessings are wished for your family.
Love from,
Pammie Capen
