James Ballentine Obituary

BALLENTINE, Sr., James James Allen Ballentine, Sr., 79, of Moncks Corner, SC, a retired quality control supervisor for the Charleston Naval Shipyard, died Friday at his residence. The funeral will be 12:00 Noon Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2007, in the CHAPEL OF DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER. Interment will follow in Berkeley Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Monday evening. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Hospice Center, 3870 Leeds Ave., Ste. 101, Charleston, SC 29405. Mr. Ballentine was born Jan. 22, 1927, in Moncks Corner, SC, a son of James Elvin Ballentine and Ethel Jackson Ballentine. He was a Navy veteran of W.W. II and a member of the Berkeley Baptist Church. He was the widower of Lillian Catherine Jones Ballentine. Surviving are, a daughter, Phyllis Ann Perry and her husband, Thomas, of Moncks Corner; a son, James Allen Ballentine, Jr., of Moncks Corner; a sister, Edith Ballentine Dalton of N. Charleston; three grandchildren, Charles Thomas, James A. Trey Ballentine, III, and Christopher Tyler Ballentine; and a great grandchild, Madison Aubrey Thomas.
