James Andrews, Jr. SUMMERVILLE - James Richard "Rick" Andrews, Jr. SUMMERVILLE - James Richard Andrews, Jr, age 78 of Summerville, SC, husband of Grace B. "Peggy" Andrews, passed away on January 7, 2024, in Summerville, SC, surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be held privately. He was born August 10, 1945, in Charleston, SC, to James Richard and Susan Mallard Andrews. He graduated from Summerville High School, attended the University of SC for a short while, went to work for the Charleston Naval Shipyard as a pipefitter and retired from there in 1994. After his retirement, he attended Trident Technical College obtaining a degree in Public Service and went to work for Motley Rice Law Firm as a paralegal, retiring from there in August 2017. He and Peggy greatly enjoyed their life together raising their five children, boating and shrimping at Folly Beach, traveling and watching their grandchildren participate in sports events. They were pretty much inseparable and enjoyed life tremendously. They were members of the Folly Beach United Methodist Church on Folly Beach, SC. Rick is survived by his loving wife, Peggy; sons; James R. Andrews, III, Todd L. Andrews (Stephanie) and C. J. Travis Lahmeyer; daughters, Patti L Moore (Timmy) and Tammi L. Knowles (Jonny); grandchildren, Jon (Tripp) Knowles, Jaime Andrews, Cooper Knowles, Jenna Andrews, T J Moore, Anna Andrews, Trevor Moore and Bryan Harrawood (Elizabeth) with a great-granddaughter on the way. He is also survived by his very special family, Jeannie and Mark Collins and their two boys, Corey and Michael. His family would like to thank Lutheran Hospice and Angie McGoldrick for their outstanding care and compassion.
