Jacob Neuman Obituary

Jacob Paul Neuman, 30, formerly of Sheridan, Wyo., passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2011, in Bozeman from a fire in an apartment complex.

Jake was born on Jan. 1, 1981, in Sheridan, Wyo., to Robert Neuman and Melodie Reed. He was raised in Sheridan and graduated from Sheridan High School in 1999.

Jake attended Western Culinary Institute in Portland, Ore., to pursue a career as a chef ,and graduated in 2001. He relocated to Bozeman to begin his career. His passion for cooking was evident in all aspects of his life. He thrived on creating unique dishes for the restaurants he worked in and for his family. At the time of his passing he was sous-chef at the Bacchus Pub.

Jake took up fly fishing with support of his friends, and became an avid fly fisherman, tying his own flies creating many of his own unique patterns. He spent most of his spare time fishing and when weather didn't permit, he tied flies.

He loved attending live concerts especially Wide Spread Panic.

Jake was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill Neuman of Rawlins, Wyo., Albert and Jean Reed of Sheridan, Wyo.; and his uncle, Bill Neuman of Sheridan.

He is survived by his parents, Robert (Meg) Neuman of Sheridan, Wyo., Melodie (Pete) Reed of Casper, Wyo.; grandparents, Frank and Bobbie Erickson of Muddy Gap, Wyo., Patricia Neuman of Modesto, Calif.; siblings, Patrick (Amanda) Neuman of Casper, Wyo., Nick Neuman of Sheridan, Wyo., Ryan Feaster of Denver, Colo., Tyler Feaster of Sheridan, Wyo., and Stephanie (Chris) Tellez of Sheridan, Wyo.; aunts, Jeanine Dean, Mary Said, Mindy Hixon, Pam Thomas; uncles, Fred Neuman, Don Neuman, Robert Erickson, Kirk Reed; nieces, Annie and Abbie Neuman, Mallarie, Presley, and Ali Tellez; along with many, many family and friends too numerous to mention.

A memorial service for Jake will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 5, at Kane Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kevin Jones officiating.

Memorials to honor Jake may be made to Joey's FlyFishing Foundation, Inc., 109 S. Main St., Suite B, Sheridan, WY 82801.

A "Celebration of Life" for Jake will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, March 7, at the Bacchus Pub, 105 W. Main St., Suite 1A, Bozeman.

We will miss seeing Jake again. We enjoyed spending time with him so much while visiting our son Jeremy. He was just a fine young man who truly loved life. Our deepest sympathy to his and Dale's family.May God be with you all. Sincerely

I am sincerely sorry to the families of Jake. I didn't know him well but I was looking forward to moving there and having him cook for me and teach me to fish. Dale really had a great friend and I am sure they are rocking out and fishing in the next world. Please know my thoughts are with you all....
