Jackie Ray Vincent

Jackie Ray Vincent, of 909 Arnett Blvd., died April 4, 2011 at Danville Regional Medical Center; he was 69.

He was born April 27, 1941 to the late Tom Vincent and Leah Hankins Vincent of Williamson, West Virginia. He worked in Dan River Mills as a loom fixer until he retired. Before working for Dan River he was a coal miner for Island Creek Coal Company. He was married to Nancy Carol Vincent. He enjoyed living life.

Mr. Vincent is survived by four sons: Jackie Ray "Pete" Vincent, Jr., Charles William Vincent, Tom Wesley Vincent, and Cody Ray Vincent; four grandchildren: Nancy Michelle Pruitt, Jackie Ray "Frankie" Vincent, III, Daniel Ray Vincent, and Nancy Carol Brittney; one great grandchild, Braelynn Pruitt; and close family friend, Linda Fisher.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 7 at Swicegood Funeral Home Chapel, Dr. Charles Scearce officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Highland Burial Park. At other times the family may be reached at 909 Arnett Blvd., Danville, Virginia.

Charlie I want you to know that Jackie got a really great send off .I can see him smiling at hearing all the hogs roaring!!Don't be too sad honey he wouldnt want you to be or any of you he always had a big smile and I know he has one now.You all have two angels looking after you Buddy and Jackie .Red was so sorry he missed seeing his close friend being given a great send off We love you all like family .Love Janice and Red and God Bless you all

And to all the other children and family.I can't tell you how sad Red and I are at hearing of the loss of one of our very dearest friends.We had some wonderful times together.Always laughing and he was so easy to laugh at my crazy jokes or most anything.Red thought the world of Jackie.One of my greatest comforts is knowing that him and Buddy are together again!God bless you all and may you find peace in knowing he is probably laughing right now with Buddy.We loved him like family and always will.Love Red and Janice Hardy

We will miss our fellow Alumn of Chattaroy High School, Chattaroy, WV. Jackie was a friend to me and a great number of his fellow students. He was an outstanding dancer. He made friends easy. He was Jackie! He will surely be missed by all his friends.
