Jack Sturges Obituary

Sturges, Jack W.

Jack Sturges, age 73, passed away on Tuesday, August 30th, 2011 following a long battle with cancer. He was born on October 18th, 1937 the son of the late Harrison and Hazel (Erdmann) Sturgis. He loved to go to the casino and spend time with his special friend Midge Berrig.

Jack is survived by two children, Shelly (Dean) Birling, Darboy and Andrew Sturges, Appleton; four grandchildren, Derek, Samantha, Sydney and Madelyn Birling; a special friend, Midge Berrig, Neenah and two brothers, Harrison Sturgis Jr., Neenah, and James (LaVerne) Sturgis, Neenah.

Jack is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jerry Sturgis; and sister-in-law, Bette Sturgis.

A memorial service will be held at "The Isle of Valor" (located behind the Memorial Building at 640 Keyes St. Menasha, across the street from Smith Park) at 4:00 on Sunday, September 11th, 2011. Visitation will be held from 3:00 until the hour of service.

A special thanks to Dr. Greminger and her staff at Mercy Medical Hospital, Phil from Affinity Hospice Home Care and Patty for being there and helping in all the ways you did.
