Jack Barrett Obituary

Chief Petty Officer Jack E. Barrett, of South Scranton, died early Sunday at home. He and his wife, the former Barbara D. Pascalo, celebrated their 23rd wedding anniversary June 1.

He was born May 14, 1943, in Somerville, Mass., the son of the late John K. "Shamus" and Vera Stewart Barrett. He was retired from the Navy, the president of the Nativity Social Club and a member of American Legion Post 306, Taylor.

Also surviving are three sons, Ty A. Beckner and wife, Patty, Old Forge; Ryan B. Barrett, Scranton; and Chris K. Barrett and wife, Marissa, Ravena, N.Y.; a sister, Barbara Ann Ciamataro and husband, Victor, Massachusetts; four grandchildren, Ty, Kayla, Brynn and Jacob; nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Stephen Barrett.

A blessing service will be held Tuesday at 8 p.m. in the Miller Bean Funeral Home Inc., 436 Cedar Ave. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
