J. Romanosky Obituary

ROMANOSKY, JR., J. Jim Romanosky, 75, of Charleston, entered into eternal rest on September 16, 2008 in a local hospital. Born February 16, 1933, he was a son of Peter J. Romanosky and Leonora S. Romanosky. Mr. Romanosky grew up in Charleston and graduated from the High School of Charleston. He received a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from The Citadel. Mr. Romanosky served two years in the U.S. Army, including a tour of duty in Korea. He retired as Fleet Ballistic Missile Project Officer at the former Charleston Naval Shipyard. He was a member of Old Saint Andrew's Parish Episcopal Church and was a volunteer at the South Carolina Room of the Charleston County Library. He is survived by his wife, Katherine Robertson Romanosky; two daughters, Mrs. Joan Romanosky and her husband Dan Cotton of Richardson, TX and Mrs. Nancy R. Freshwater and her husband Kevin of Charleston, SC; one sister, Mrs. Audrey R. Moorman of Charleston, SC; and one granddaughter, Megan P. Freshwater of Charleston, SC; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Camille R. Johnson and Patricia J. Romanosky. Funeral services will be held graveside at Live Oak Memorial Gardens at eleven o'clock on Thursday, September 18, 2008. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Charleston Animal Society, 2455 Remount Road, North Charleston, SC 29406. Katherine, Joan and Nancy, please accept our deepest sympathy at the loss of Jim. Jim was a Great Guy and a very caring person. I hold very close to my heart all of the Love and Support Jim and Kathy have given my Mom and Dad over many, many years. Jim has been very special to me since I was very young. We will miss him Greatly. I will never forget the Jim-Ism's (Oggspoggle and Horse Feathers).
