J. Mitchum Obituary

Mike was my friend. Friends are people you can call for help at 2am, & they show up without hesitation. Mike was a friend to many people. He gave back so much. His heart was as big as he was diminutive. The World is not as bright without him. He is missed.

I am so so sorry. I just found out about Mike. He was one of my favorite people in law school. Always so funny and witty. I liked to joke a lot and always enjoyed being around Mike - especially when everyone else was overly stressed about school, Mike was a breath of fresh air! I have thought about Mike a lot over the years since law school, and am so sorry to hear of his passing.

I'm very sorry to hear of Michael's passing. I've known Michael, Tommy, And Billy for most of my life and they were all a great group of guys.

Michael was a good man, standup guy.

To Cameron, Ann and the Mitchum/Duffy clan, my thoughts and prayers are with you. Mike was a wonderful person who brought joy with him everywhere. He was quick to laugh, quick to lend a helping hand, quick to defend and slow to anger or rebuke. His view of life and his part in it was truly Christian and charitable to all. As a friend, there were none finer. I shall miss him til the day I hope to see him on the other side of the veil.

I knew Mike in HS and college. I see from his recent friends that he had not changed, a kind and gentle soul always ready to share a laugh. I can still hear that distinctive laugh.

Mike had a gentle spirit and a deep soul. He was always kind, honest, and humble and truly walked the walk. I am grateful to have known him and my prayers go out to his family. Well done Mike.

Shock and sadness cannot adequately convey my emotions upon seeing the notice in today's paper.

I am so sorry to hear of Mike's death. My sincere condolences to his family. He was a good person who shared his hope with others.

I am so sorry to learn of Michael's death. We were friends and law school and I remember him most for his unwavering belief in the concept of redemption. I hope his closest family and friends can take comfort in the knowledge that he has now heard, "Well done, my good and faithful servant," for truly he was.

Mike was a wonderful,kind and humble man who brought his kindness and goodness to our Wednesday group. I didn't know him very long, but he makes me want to be a better person. He was very kind and helped me when I needed it. He will be missed very much.

To the Mitchum Family,
I was devastated to hear of Michaels passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. I have wonderful memories of Michael. I worked in the Magistrates Court and that is how we met. He did a closing for me last year and I found out that his dad was Billy from Richards Mens Wear. I knew his dad and had no idea they were related. I will always think of him with a smile on his face. Again, my deepest sympathies.

Ann, I am so sorry to hear about Mike. He was a great guy who I got to know through my sister, Shannon. She and he were close when both were at USC and worked at Lowe's together. She is most distressed at this news and will try to attend his funeral this Saturday. I am so sorry for your loss of this wonderful son. My hearfelt sympathy to his wife and children who have lost a their husband and father.
