MARSHA MILSTEAD COOLEY

June 13, 1937 – Oct. 12, 2025

Marsha Milstead Cooley, 88, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 12, 2025, in Glendale, Arizona. Born on June 13, 1937, in Lodi, California, Marsha lived a full and loving life surrounded by family, friends, and a community that she welcomed with open arms.

She is survived by her beloved sister, Karen Nelson; her children, Joan Lara (Peter), David Cooley, Robert Cooley (Sheri) , Frank Cooley Jr. (Denise), Thomas Cooley, and Lisa Smelser (Matt); 16 grandchildren, Amy, Josh, Jake, Jessica, Hannah, Courtney, Heidi, Zachary, Brandon, Jason, Amanda, Kyle, Ryan, David Jr., Paige, and Anson. Marsha was also blessed with 12 great-grandchildren, Jocelyn, Jameson, London, Gavin, Jaxynn, Eden, Emma, Lennox, Nathanial, Luxton, Liam and Philip; as well as many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Fern Milstead, and her husband, Frank Cooley.

Marsha was known for her warmth, generosity, and the open door of her home. Her kitchen table was always surrounded by family and often by the many friends her children brought home, all of whom quickly became part of the extended family. There was always room for one more.

She had a passion for quilting, gardening, and golf, but nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her loved ones. Her presence, steady love, and sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A funeral service will be held at Frye Chapel in Brawley, California, on Friday, October 24, 2025, at 11 a.m., with a graveside service to follow.
