Benedict Smith Obituary

Benedict Blaine Stephen Smith, also known by Benny, on April 2, 2020 at his appointment hour Benny departed this life. He is survived by his wife of 45 years Laverne Nettles Smith, 3 sons Benedict Jr. (Michelle) Smith, Brandon Smith (Joyce), Francis Smith (Shantra); 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters Bernadette Givens, Carla (Darus) Short, 3 brothers Louis Jr. (Delores) Elloie, Ceaser (Shelly) Elloie, Michael Elloie, and a host of aunts and uncles, also nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by his mother Gertrude Smith, father Louis Elloie, Sr. and sister Theresa Elloie. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 3, 2021 from 12 noon to 4 pm. at Oakdale Park, 650 Wall Blvd. Please wear mask and your chair.

I'll NEVER stop missing my brother.Blaine was a BRIGHT SPOT. Everyone that knew him only has GREAT memories and GREAT things to say about this life.R.I.P. LIL BROTHER.

Blaine was a wonderful man. We met him through our former neighbor, Russell. He wired 2 of our houses after Katrina and did multiple other jobs for us over the years. Neighbors would be shocked when we gave him our house keys. We considered him our friend.
