Irene Mercer Obituary

MERCER, Irene GEORGETOWN - Irene S. Mercer, 79, widow of Guy M. Mercer, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 25, 2008. Memorial funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at Wayne United Methodist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Stephen R. Jordon. Mrs. Mercer was born May 15, 1928 in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, the only child of the late Rudolph P. Slickers and the late Dorothy Sellers Slickers. Mrs. Mercer was a member of Wayne United Methodist Church where she was active in the Wednesday Morning Bible Study. Surviving are: two sons, David L. Mercer and his wife Molly of Pawleys Island, and Douglas M. Mercer and his wife Mary of Georgetown; a daughter-in-law Sally Ann Mercer of Pawleys Island; two very special grandsons, Ryan and Erick Mercer of Pawleys Island; five additional grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her loving husband and her dear son, Daniel A. (Danny) Mercer. The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service in the church fellowship hall.
