Ina Smithey Obituary

SMITHEY, Ina Mrs. Ina Smithey, age 86, of Charleston SC, devoted wife of Isaac Braxton Smithey (Deceased) died Tuesday February 21st 2006 at her residence. She was born October 3rd 1919 in Carnes Crossroad, Berkeley County, SC to Joseph Martin Harmon and Letha Driggers Harmon. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church. She studied nursing at Roper Hospital and was retired after many years as a licensed private duty nurse. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Chapter 100. She is survived by her sister: Harriette LeGette of Mt Pleasant SC; and several nieces and nephews; special care-givers: Roberta Blanchard, Patricia Vining, Sandra Hardy, Rosa and Robert Thompson, Johnica Wright, Virginia Thomas. She is predeceased by her husband of 58 years: Isaac B. Smithey. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Wednesday February 22nd 2006 at McAlister-Smith Downtown Chapel, 150 Wentworth Street, Charleston SC 29401. Funeral will be at 2:00 PM Thursday February 23rd 2006 at McAlister-Smith Downtown Chapel, 150 Wentworth Street, Charleston SC 29401. Interment will follow in Live Oak Cemetery, Charleston, SC. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in Ina Smithey's honor to Heartland Hospice, 3 South Park Circle, Ste 172, Charleston SC 29407.
