Ida Grunsky Obituary

Ida Grunsky Bonneau, SC - Ida Feagin Grunsky, 70, of Bonneau, SC, a retired school teacher for the SC Department of Education, died Saturday afternoon in a Moncks Corner hospital. Her funeral will be 7:00 PM Tuesday evening, October 10, 2017, in the CHAPEL OF DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:30 PM until the hour of service on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Pointe North Church, 110 BiLo Dr., Moncks Corner, SC 29461. Mrs. Grunsky was born December 18, 1946, in Kingstree, SC, a daughter of Harlee Stafford Feagin, II, and Ida Ballentine Feagin. She was a graduate of Berkeley High School and received her bachelors degree from Winthrop College and her masters from the University of SC. Mrs. Grunsky began her teaching career at the Lonnie B. Nelson Elementary School in Columbia prior to moving to Berkeley County. She then taught at Lord Berkeley Academy and Whitesville Elementary prior to teaching at Macedonia Middle School from which she retired. She was a member of Pointe North Church, and she enjoyed playing the piano, camping, and spending time at the beach, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Grunsky was preceded in death by two brothers, H. Stafford Feagin, III, and Bruce A. Feagin. Surviving are her husband, Francis R. "Butch" Grunsky; a daughter, Amy G. Campbell and her husband, Heath, of Moncks Corner; a son, Bryan J. Grunsky and his wife, Michele, of Monroe, LA; and five grandchildren, Corey Campbell, Trevor Campbell, Jared Campbell, Graham "Gray" Grunsky, and Cooper Grunsky.
