Ida Cobb Obituary

A native of Erwinville and a resident of Zachary, she died on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 peacefully at the St. Joseph Hospice Carpenter House surrounded by family. She was 85 years old. She graduated from Port Allen High School and Baton Rouge Business College. She married William Carlos Cobb on February 19, 1949. They celebrated over 60 years of marriage together. She retired from Copolymer with 42 years of service. She was a dedicated employee who excelled expectations and made many lasting friendships. She loved spending time at False River where they had a camp enjoying many years with family and friends. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and Ladies Altar Society serving for many years. She also enjoyed the time she served with the Zachary Beautification Committee. Past hobbies included a Book and Bridge Club. Upon retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, vacations to the beach as well as traveling. Visitation will be at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on Friday, December 7, 2012 from 10:00 am until mass at 12:00 pm with Rosary at 11:15 am, conducted by Father Jeffery Bayhi. Burial will be in Beulah-Plains Cemetery. She is survived by son, William Kevin Cobb, and daughter-in-law Rhonda Cobb of Greenwell Springs, LA; three grandchildren: Renee C. Zerangue and her husband Chad Zerangue, and great grandson Nathaniel "Nate" Paul Zerangue of Lewis Center, Ohio; Carla C. Guidry and her husband Chris Guidry, great-granddaughters: Colleen and Christa Guidry of Heber Springs, AR, and Candace C. Grover and her husband Chris of Houston, TX. And surviving brother Kermit Bergeron and wife Ruth Bergeron. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony Ferdinand Bergeron and Mary Louise Bergeron; three brothers, infant John Ray Bergeron, Malcolm "Man" Bergeron, Gary Bergeron, and Kearney Bergeron; two sisters, Carole Faye Dykes and Rita Bueche. Pallbearers will be John Cobb, Chad Zerangue, Chris Grover, Michael Rojas, Linthon Bundick, and Ronnie Breaux. Honorary pallbearers will be John Ray Bueche, Kenny Bueche, and Mark Dykes. Special thanks to Professional Home Services, who provided care givers Rhonda Richardson and Sherry Hartfield.
