I vividly remember my friendship with Hulda, our common interest in helping patients and doing research on a landmark trial of management of type 1 diabetes. Hulda was very dedicated to her patients whom she loved and loved her in return. She will be sorely missed by both her patients and her colleagues.

A remarkable woman. Great and inspiring teacher, dedicated and caring physician, a great mentor and role model, and example of the possibility of what being a physician was meant to be. Requiem in pacem.
